Goal Interview: Dede Ayew Reveals Adebayor Admiration

Rising Ghana star Dede Ayew - son of national team legend Abedi Pele - spoke exclusively to Goal's Barney Cullum.

Dede Ayew, one of the many watched men in Ghana's supremely talented squad, spoke to us about about club and international football.

At the club level, he revealed he has a soft spot for Arsenal, and that he would love to play with Emmanuel Adebayor one day.

"I think Adebayor is the best player in the world and I love watching him play," he said. "He is fast, strong, tall and can do everything with the ball."

"For now I will continue to work hard for Marseille, but for sure I love to watch Arsenal, and it's true I love the way they play football."

"At Marseille we are taught to play simple 'break and pass' football and Arsenal are similar, but on another level."

At the international level, Ayew was drafted into the Ghana squad after making just eight league appearances and three in the Cup in his debut season for the French giants, but there is already a clamour for the 17-year-old to start for the Black Stars.

He is following in the footsteps of three times African Footballer of the Year Abedi Pele, having chosen Ghana over France, and comparisons are already being drawn in the football mad country.

He insists it is all "good pressure" and that he is "happy" with his choice of country.

"I will probably only get the chance to play the ACN at home once so I am savouring every moment," he concluded.
