Toyota Supports CAN 2008

TOYOTA GHANA Limited last Monday donated a New Generation (NG) Corolla car valued at $23,000 to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports as part of its contribution towards the successful hosting of the ongoing 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Accra, the Managing Director of the Company, Mr Masato Kimata said the donation formed part of the company's commitment to ensuring that Ghana's Black Stars win the cup.

Mr Kimata said as part of the company's 10th anniversary celebrations, Toyota would embark upon its continual support to education, health and safety dwellings of people in the country.

He added that the NG, which was the first delivery of the new brand to the ministry, would help propel the Ghana's Black Stars to victory.

The Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Professor Dominic Fobih thanked the management of Toyota for the gesture promising that the car would be used for the intended purpose.

In a congratulatory message to the Black Stars, the minister urged the players to concentrate and approach each match with the 'vim' and determination they exhibited last Sunday.

“Your resilience, perseverance and commitment at the match are indication to the nation of your determination to win the trophy for us come February 10,” he said.By Abubakar Salifu
