Serbian side Red Star Belgrade "Crvena Zvezda" are in talks to sign Ghana Under-23 striker Prince Tagoe.

The former European champions have started negotiations with his Saudi side Al Ettifaq over his release. The deal is expected to be around a fee of one million US dollars.

Tagoe's agent confirmed that Al Ettifaq are negotiating the possible transfer of the forward.

"Red Star Belgrade have opened talks with Al Ettifaq for Prince. Even though they like him, hopefully the Saudis will understand he wants to play in a bigger league," Benedict Lodonu told Ghanasoccernet

The 22-year old has been prolific in the Saudi Premier League and should fit the bill in the Serbian league.

If a deal is struck, Tagoe will be the second Ghanaian player to join them after Haminu Draminu once played for the Serbians in 2005.

He was top scorer in the Ghanaian league during the 2004/2005 season and a member of the Egypt 2006 Nations Cup squad.

Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup in 1991.
