3 Kessben Stars For Europe

REPORTS AVAILABLE to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that three Kessben FC players have received offers for trials from top-notch clubs in Germany and Denmark.

The lucky players, Sampson Cudjoe, Daniel Addo and James Boadu were said to have caught the eyes of the clubs following their splendid performances in the league so far.

They are expected to emplane to their various destinations and engage in the trials in mid-January 2008 when the league would be on hold due to the 26th MTN African Cup of Nations.

Fred Acheampong, Communication's Director of Kessben FC, in an interview lauded the impressive performance of the three players and for that matter the entire team, which had created the chance for them to go to Europe for the trials.

Although he refused to mention the clubs that have shown interest in the three players, he stated that plans were far-advanced for the players to journey to Europe early next year.

According to him, the club is being run purely on business grounds, hence management's decision to put up splendid infrastructure to, within the shortest possible time, give the players the best of training.

“We will groom the players and when they are ripe, we sell them to big-time European clubs for hard currency to train others to fill in the gap,” he stated.

Mr. Acheampong debunked assertions that Kessben FC was in the premiership ostensibly to overshadow Kotoko, saying, “Kessben FC will and can never have such a demonic mission”.

He explained that his outfit was not in the league to compete with any other club for supremacy, stressing, “Kessben FC's sole aim is to maintain its premiership status”.

The Communications Director gave the assurance that the club would get the needed resources to participate in Africa when the need arises.

He was full of praise for the players so far and warned them to shun complacency and rather work harder to make the club a force to reckon with in the premiership. From Fred J. A. Ibrahim Jnr., Kumasi.
