The Director General at the National Sports Commission (NSC) Dr. Amos Adamu may not be anybody’s type of prophet but the renowned sports administrator, who insists he was one, looking into his crystal ball recently, predicted that nothing would stop the Super Eagles from lifting the 20th edition of the African Cup of Nations in Ghana next year.

The man, who wears a lot of crown on his head, said the Eagles have no option than to win the continental trophy the first time in 14 years.

Adamu, while speaking on a live programme ‘One on One’ on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) says Eagles have been given good support and motivation that should spur them to victory.

“Nigeria can win the Nations Cup trophy in Ghana. I’m very sure of that, going by the preparation the team have received so far. We have the players on ground to do the job.
“Nigeria Football Association (NFA) on their own have tried to give the players a good atmosphere for them to go all out for the trophy.
“Last time, the NFA chairman was in London where they reached an agreement with the Super Eagles representatives on match bonuses.

“Aside that, the team spirit is there, all players are eager and yearning for the trophy after 14 years. A lot of them have equally confessed that they are tired of the bronze. With all these, I don’t think they have any excuse not to win the coveted trophy.
“Meanwhile, their accommodation in Ghana has been secured and paid for. I believe Nigeria would not be stopped in Ghana by any team.
