The first fortnight draw in the 'Spot The Ball' consumer promotion recently launched by Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) as part of activities to whip up public interest in the 2008 African Cup of Nations, was held live on the 'Music Music' programme on TV3 last Saturday.
Members from the studio audience were called to help with the draw which was supervised by officials from the KPMG accounting firm.
The first prize, a 32-inch LCD Plasma television set was won by MTN subscriber with number 0246 836953.
The second to fifth winners in the draw will get digital cameras whilst the sixth to 15th winners also get tickets to watch matches at Ghana 2008.
All the winners will be notified through the press.
Richard Acheampong, Senior Manager in charge of Events and Sponsorship at MTN, said at the draw that MTN is grateful to all its loyal customers and that the promotion is also a way of rewarding them.
He stated that hundreds of prizes are still available in the promotion.
To enter the draw, MTN subscribers are required to 'spot' the position of hidden balls in press advertisements and text their predictions to short
code 1354. The correct entries go into a pool for the fortnightly draw.
A final draw for the grand prize, a $60,000 Jaguar/Mercedez saloon car, will be held at the end of the promotion.
MTN is the title sponsor of the 2008 African Cup of Nations.
