The junior national soccer team, the Black Starlets was dealt a blow as they fell 2-0 to England's young Three Lions in an international friendly played on Tuesday night.

The freezing conditions at the Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham was a bother to the Black Starlets who conceded goals in the 38th minute and 82nd minute with Daniel Welbeck and Daniel Drinkwater getting the goals for their opponents before the 5,297 fans that had made it into the stadium.

England could have doubled their lead two minutes after the first goal from a spot kick but Black Starlets goalkeeper, Joseph Addo was equal to the task as he blocked out Ghana-born English player, Nana Ofori-Twumasi's kick.

Prince Attakora Gyimah could have evened the scores for Ghana after exchanging passes with Paul Addo down the left. The Black Starlets captain, placed the ball into his path but Gyimah with the goal at his mercy hit the ball into the stands.

Ghana's Ransford Osei came close on numerous occasions but simply could not hit the back of the net.

Though conceding two goals, goalkeeper Joseph Addo put out some great saves before being substituted in the 90 minute with Robert Dabou.

Ghana coach, Emmanuel Quarshie who was missing striker Sadick Adams and attacking midfielder, Ishmael Yartey made four substitutions on the night. Ghanafa
