RC Celta de Vigo have confirmed the permanent signing of Ghanaian youngster Bernard Somuah Sarpong from Asante Kotoko SC, securing the forward on a long-term deal that runs until June 2030.
The 19-year-old winger, who initially arrived in Spain in August 2024 on a loan agreement with an option to buy, has now had his purchase clause activated after an impressive run of performances.
His rapid development and growing influence convinced the club to make the move permanent as part of their long-term sporting plans.
Somuah’s rise through the ranks of Celta’s academy setup has been swift.
After adapting with the Juvenil A side, he earned promotion to Celta Fortuna, the club’s reserve team, where he made his debut in the Primera Federación on the opening day against Zamora CF. Since then, he has established himself as a regular figure in the squad.
The Ghanaian attacker has netted five goals so far this season, playing a key role in the team’s strong campaign. His most memorable contribution came at Barreiro, where he struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner to complete a comeback victory over Talavera.
His performances have helped lift Celta Fortuna to second place in the standings on 48 points, firmly positioning the reserve side in contention for a historic promotion.
