THE GREATER ACCRA Cycling Association (GACA), led by its General Secretary, Charles Johnson, has put in place measures to organize this year's Tour D'Accra on November 25, 2007.

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicate that the race will bring together 80 top cyclists from Ghana and other ECOWAS countries such as Burkina Faso, Nigeria Cote D'Ivoire, Benin and Togo to participate in the event that will be sponsored by T.T. Brothers. Two years ago, the race was won by Dennis Martey Hammond.

According to Mr. Charles Johnson, this year's event will cover a total distance of 76 kilometers approximately, starting from the Maracuja House at Nungua Barrier towards Accra through Trade Fair, Burma Camp junction to Kawokudi and then to Dimples Junction, Achimota Overpass, through Mallam Junction, Kaneshie and Obetsebi Lamptey roundabout.

Cyclists will continue towards Korle-Bu through Lartebiokoshie to Link Road through Mamprobi and back to Korle-Bu Mortuary road.

They will comeback to the Obetsebi Lamptey roundabout to Graphic Road towards the National Theatre, and move to the Ministries and then to the Independence Square.

They will return to Beach Road, go through Teshie Nungua to the finishing point at the T.T. Brothers Maracuja House at Nungua.
Mr. Johnson said the idea by T.T. Brothers to sponsor the Tour D'Accra is very welcomed by the Cycling Association as their aim is to always promote cycling in Ghana.

He stated that so far T.T. Brothers are the sole sponsors of the forthcoming race and they will need other sponsors to come on board to help develop the sport.
