Most Of our international players are complaining about the nature our stadia in Ghana. Today not to sound too long it is about time the Accra Sports Stadium is reserved and maintain and no club team should use it as a venue and must be preserve and maintain at all Time.
And now to the Director of the Ghana National Sports Authority, Hon.Yaw Amponfo ANKRAH please kindly take a clue from what the Sports And recreation Minister Hon. Kofi Adams has started and maintain our pitches especially the Accra International Sports Stadium for us as I want it to be named.
All the international players are calling for good pitches , please prepare, maintain, and decorate Accra International Sports Stadium comparable to international standard pitches like those of Africa like Morocco, South Africa , Egypt etc for our national teams for no excuses.
The ministry of Sports and recreation led by Hon. Kofi Adams has also taken steps touring some of the sports stadia in the country promising government support and interest in building new sport facilities and rehabilitation of some stadia especially Cape Coast, Kumasi and Tamale.
With backing from the Asantehene His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu ( II), promising his support for the Minister on his visit to his palace, there is hope most of the stadia in the country will get a face lift hence reducing pressure on the National Wembley, the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) must play a pivotal and leading role in leading the crusade for a standard pitches for our national teams and the Ghana premier league clubs since they organize all international and local tournaments.
My other area of concern is the deplorable state of the Tema sports stadium. It seems as at now Tema has no standard stadium after the exit of Tema youth Football club from the Ghana premier league.
Notable players like Thomas Teye Partey, Ghana Black Star's deputy captain played his early days football with Tema Youth and Revelation FC at Ashaiman. As I speak now Ashaiman cannot boast of any standard park or even an AstroTurf.
We pray the Sports and the recreation ministry should take a critical look at the sports facilities at Ashaiman and Tema. Ashaiman has produced a lot sports talents and also deserve good sports facilities.
Players Thomas Teye Partey, Michael Ocansey, Moses Odjer, Daniel Lomotey, Kofi Nimo, Francis Amuzu, and most of our premier league players even the famous Awudu Issaka have all once tasted and trained on Ashaiman pitches therefore Ashaiman and Tema must never be left out when it comes to building of standard sports stadium and it's facilities. It will go along way to curb off criminal activities associated with some of these cities.
And to all the international stars if you fail to qualify us for the world Cup , we Ghanaians shall call for the use of the local players like Daniel Lomotey and others for our international Matches henceforth.
Ghanaians allowed you your freedom of speech, but remember before you guys depart Ghana for Europe frankly speaking , Ghana don't have good pitches even for our premier league matches, you guys played on rough surfaces before getting to ; we call it Europe or where ever now.
We shall hold you responsible if the ACCRA International Sports Stadium is maintained to international standard and you cannot get us the world Cup slot.
Every Ghanaian is patiently waiting for your chances of getting Ghana qualify for the next world cup at Mexico, Canada and United States of America come next year 2026.
You have no excuses if you fail to secure us a qualification.
Long live Black Star's; Long live Ghana Football.
