The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and CAF 2nd Vice President, as the new head of its Organising Committee for Inter-Club Competitions and Club Licensing Management.
In this new role, Okraku will oversee CAF’s top-tier inter-club competitions, including the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
He is expected to provide strategic leadership to strengthen and elevate the stature of these tournaments across the continent and beyond.
Additionally, he will be responsible for guiding the development and implementation of the Club Licensing System — a key initiative aimed at professionalising African club football and aligning it with international standards.
As Committee President, Okraku will collaborate with CAF’s Executive Committee, Member Associations, and other major stakeholders to boost the quality and appeal of inter-club competitions on the African football calendar.
His appointment is seen as a significant step in CAF’s ongoing efforts to reform and raise the standards of club football on the continent.
