Chelsea are preparing to submit an official £55 million bid to secure the services of Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.
The 23-year-old has been on the radar of several top clubs this summer, with Chelsea emerging as a serious contender.
Fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are also keen, having already had a bid rejected by the Hammers.
Reports suggest Chelsea's offer will include an additional £5 million in potential add-ons, bringing the total package to £60 million—matching West Ham’s valuation of the player.
Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for £38 million, has impressed with his versatility and goal-scoring ability. He has scored 19 goals in 80 appearances for the London club.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking after his team’s 2-1 victory over Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup, praised Kudus’ talent, saying:
“He’s a West Ham player, so I can’t say much. The only thing I can say is that I’ve known Kudus since his time at Ajax,” Maresca said.
With Kudus viewed as a strong fit for Maresca’s tactical plans, Stamford Bridge is increasingly seen as the ideal destination for the Ghana international to continue his development.
