Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil scored twice to inspire LA Galaxy to a commanding 3-0 victory over Vancouver in their latest Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture on Saturday night.
LA Galaxy got off to a flying start when Matheus Nascimento found the net just two minutes into the game, giving the hosts an early advantage they carried into halftime.
The second half belonged to Paintsil. The 26-year-old doubled Galaxy’s lead just after the hour mark, finishing off a move assisted by former Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.
He completed his brace 13 minutes later, calmly converting from the penalty spot to seal the emphatic win.
The result marked only LA Galaxy’s second win of the league campaign, having struggled with six draws and 13 defeats in their previous outings.
