Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club will soon make a decision regarding the future of interim head coach, Karim Zito.
Zito took over the coaching role midway through the second round of the 2024/25 season following the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Despite stepping in on a temporary basis, the experienced tactician made a notable impact, guiding the Porcupine Warriors to a fourth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League and clinching the FA Cup title.
Under his leadership, Kotoko defeated lower-tier side Golden Kick FC 2-1 to secure the club’s 10th FA Cup triumph.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Sarfo Duku commended Zito’s performance but emphasized that a thorough review of the season will determine the next step.
"When Karim Zito was appointed, we announced that he would be in there as the interim, but he has performed well," he told Asempa FM.
"In the Premier League, he lost just one game and went all the way to win the FA Cup.
"He has done well, but we will review the season and make a decision whether Karim Zito will stay as the substantive head coach or we will bring in someone elsewhere, but I'm happy with the performance of Karim Zito and the work he has done," he added.
Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
