Black Stars defender Baba Rahman has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to adopt a more strategic approach to the planning and management of the Ghana Premier League.
The POAK left-back believes the domestic league holds great promise and could compete with the best in Africa if properly structured and managed.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Rahman stressed that the problem isn’t the quality of players.
“The challenges in our league aren’t due to a lack of talent — there are genuinely good players competing," Rahman said.
“But when it comes to continental competitions, we often fall short.
He attributed this struggle to poor organization and inadequate planning.
"The real problem lies in planning and organization. Improving these areas is crucial to attracting fans and helping our clubs perform better," he added.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is set to begin on September 12.
