The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially released the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2025 Unity Cup, set to take place later this month.
The announcement comes with a few surprise omissions, as some high-profile players were left out.
Nigeria will reignite their long-standing rivalry with West African neighbours Ghana in the semifinal, scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford. Kick-off is set for 19:00 GMT.
The victor of that encounter will move on to face the winner between Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago in the final, which is slated for Saturday, May 31, at 12:30 GMT.
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has called up a strong squad featuring key names such as Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka, who bring Premier League experience to the midfield. Also included are forwards Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon.
Notably absent from the list are some of Nigeria’s regular stars, including Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, is expected to unveil his final squad for the tournament in the coming days.
