Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has commended the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, for his positive outlook on sports in Ghana.
The CAF leadership visited Accra over the weekend to attend the 2025 Africa School Championship, which took place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Kofi Adams expressed his belief that Dr. Motsepe, the South African business mogul, has a deep appreciation for sports in Ghana.
The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency revealed that the CAF president emphasized the importance of investing in grassroots sports.
"I believe apart from South Africa, where he comes from, the next country he loves is Ghana. He has good thoughts about Ghana in terms of football and beyond the game.
"Despite showing a strong interest in football, he also has an interest in other sports, which is a good thing.
"He encouraged us to continue investing in other grassroots sports," he added.
Dr. Motsepe also took time to visit former President John Mahama during his visit to Ghana over the weekend.
