Tariq Lamptey returns to Brighton training after long injury layoff

Ghana defender, Tariq Lamptey, has rejoined his Brighton & Hove Albion teammates at the training grounds after a long injury layoff.

The former Chelsea right-back has been out of action since March, which kept him out of Ghana's games against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

It is yet to be seen if he will be named in the Seagulls squad for their game against West Ham United this weekend.

The 24-year-old has been exceptional for Brighton in the current campaign despite struggling with injuries.

Lamptey has made 13 Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Despite his impressive performance for The Seagulls, his future at the club remains uncertain with two months left on his current contract, and he has been reportedly linked with a move to Ajax in the Netherlands and other elite European clubs.

Meanwhile, the young, talented fullback is expected to be available for the Black Stars of Ghana in May for the Four Nations tournament (Unity Cup,) which is scheduled to take place in London next month.
