Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team will now compete for a bronze medal after falling 1-0 to Tanzania in the semifinals of the CAF African Schools Football Championship.
The match, played on Friday, April 25, at the University of Ghana Stadium, saw the host nation narrowly miss out on a place in the final.
Tanzania took an early lead through Sadam Hamis, who found the net just minutes after kickoff to give the defending champions a crucial advantage.
Ghana entered the semifinal in impressive form, having topped Group A with victories over Uganda, South Africa, and Algeria. In contrast, Tanzania had managed only one win in three group matches.
Despite dominating possession and mounting several promising attacks, Ghana couldn't break through Tanzania’s resolute defense.
The East African side stood firm under pressure, denying the hosts any chance of a comeback.
With the result, Tanzania advances to the final, while Ghana will now shift focus to the third-place playoff in hopes of securing a podium finish.
