Head coach of Ghana’s U-20 national team, Desmond Ofei, remains unfazed by the challenge of facing defending champions Senegal in the upcoming 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Satellites have been drawn into a tough group that includes reigning champions Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.
With only the top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, advancing to the quarter-finals, competition will be fierce.
Despite the high stakes, Ofei is confident in his team’s preparation and mentality.
“It’s a big match, no doubt. But we’ll treat it like any other: with respect, focus, and confidence. We’ll execute our tactical plan, stay disciplined, and be fearless in key moments,” he said.
Ofei, known for his tactical acumen and calm demeanour, is looking to guide Ghana back to prominence on the continental stage after recent setbacks.
The 2025 U-20 AFCON is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 27, and will climax with the final on May 18.
