Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has applauded Jordan Ayew for his exceptional leadership following Black Stars' back-to-back wins against Chad and Madagascar.

The Leicester City striker was confirmed as the new skipper for the side ahead of the Matchday five and six games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ayew scored and led the side to a 5-0 win against Chad before grabbing a hat-trick assist against Madagascar in Black Stars' 3-0 win.

Speaking on TV3, Agyemang-Badu praised Jordan Ayew’s leadership qualities and performance.

“He’s very calm, with a strong mentality. Playing with him, you’ll realize the kind of guy he is," he said.

The captaincy issue has been resolved, and with the likes of Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan, we’re good to go, Agyemang-Badu added.

Ayew now boasts an impressive five goals and four assists in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, placing him second behind Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, who has six goals and three assists.

The Black Stars will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign in September, facing Comoros and Chad in their seventh and eighth group matches as they strive to secure their fifth World Cup appearance.
