Ghana head coach, Otto Addo, has assured fans that his team will be fine without injured midfielder Elisha Owusu.
The coach named Elisha Owusu in his 23-man squad for the upcoming games in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Due to an injury setback, the France-based midfielder had to pull out of the squad before players assembled in camp for the March international break.
Amid concerns about the unavailability of Elisha Owusu, Coach Otto Addo has indicated that there are players in his squad in camp who can play the role of the injured midfielder.
“Elisha Owusu is an important player but we have similar profiles and I’m happy that we brought in others. I think we have more players who can play in that role,” coach Otto Addo told the press on Thursday.
The Ghana coach added, “For the approach to this game I think surely we have a lot of ball possession. We have to attack and that’s for sure.”
The Black Stars of Ghana will host Chad on Friday in the first of their two matches in the World Cup qualifiers this month.
Subsequently, the Ghana national team will travel to Morocco for a clash against Madagascar on March 24.
