President John Dramani Mahama has hinted that he will watch the Black Stars game against Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana will host the Chadians in the Matchday five games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
Addressing the players following a visit, Mahama revealed that he has been advised by close friends to eat before the game commences to avoid any discomfort in the event of a defeat.
He, however, urged the Black Stars players to win against Chad and make the entire nation proud.
"I will take time off and watch the game myself, even though my heart is not very good at watching soccer. I will brave it, as they have told me to eat before watching the game," he said.
"My hope is that you will justify my sitting and watching you guys. The whole of Ghana is going to be behind you, and I am sure that you can make it," he added.
After the game against Chad, the Black Stars will face Madagascar in an away fixture on March 24, 2025.
A win in both games will put Ghana in a better position to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup to be hosted in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America.
