Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team as they prepare for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
Following a disappointing campaign in 2024, Ghana’s senior national team is determined to turn things around when they face Chad and Madagascar in their upcoming qualifiers.
Speaking to 3Sports, Addo, who was reappointed in March 2024 on a three-year contract, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support during difficult times and encouraged fans to show up in large numbers for Friday’s game.
“A big respect for those who are supporting us. We are calling on your support. We thank you for your support," the 49-year-old said.
"Even though things were bad, we were really grateful for each and everyone who supported us. Like I said, It’s not only about us, it’s about all of us," he added.
Currently second in Group I with nine points, Ghana will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
With qualification for the global tournament at stake, the Black Stars will be aiming for victory in both matches to strengthen their chances of securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
