Agyekum has been a key player for Cercle this season, making 38 appearances across all competitions. His ability to disrupt opposition attacks, create chances, and drive play forward makes him a valuable addition to Otto Addo’s squad.
Owusu’s absence is a setback, given his experience and leadership in Ghana’s midfield. However, Agyekum’s inclusion injects fresh energy into the team, offering the Black Stars renewed momentum ahead of these crucial fixtures.
For Agyekum, this maiden call-up is a significant milestone, presenting him with the opportunity to showcase his talent on the international stage.
Ghana is set to face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before heading to Morocco to take on Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars have opened camp in Accra today and will hold their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ghana currently sits level with Comoros on nine points in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers.
