2024/25 GPL Matchday 24 Wrap Up: Dreams FC shock Hearts of Oak as Nations FC crash Medeama SC

The Matchday 24 games of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League have ended at the various stadia with shocking results.

On Saturday, FC Samartex held Asante Kotoko to a 1-1 draw at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Awuah Dramani opened the scoring for the home side in the 38th minute before Kwame Poku pulled parity in the 46th minute.

Young Apostles at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park stunned Accra Lions by a lone goal. Hussein Issah scored a decisive goal in the 72nd minute to separate the two teams.

At the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak, who were hoping to reclaim the top spot, suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC. Abdul Razak Salifu's third-minute goal was enough as the Still Believe lads secured the three points.

The Sunday games saw Bechem United recording a 2-0 win against Vision FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Yaw Annor bagged a sensational brace for the Hunters. Annor scored two goals in quick succession in the 24th and 25th minutes to hand victory to the home side.

At Kpando Sports Stadium, Heart of Lions edged past Karela United with a narrow 1-0 victory in a tasty Premier League match on Sunday at the Kpando Sports Stadium. Kwesi Pong scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute to hand victory to the home side.

Elsewhere, Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex recorded a hard fought 2-1 win against Medeama SC.

Defender Razak Simpson scored a belter in the 32 minute before Yusuf Mubarak pulled parity in the 60th minute through the spot kick.

However, in-form winger Faisal Charwartey scored the match-winner with a thumping header in the 78th minute.

Legon Cities secured a vital 2-1 win against Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium to revive their hopes of maintaining their Premier League status.

The Royals went ahead courtesy of Mohammed Alidu before Stephen Amankona pulled parity.

However, Kabu Agyemang Raymond scored the match-winner to deliver victory for the home side.

Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park shocked Bibiani GoldStars with a 2-0 win. Kelvin Obeng's brace sealed the win for the two times champions.

Obeng scored in the 7th and 11th minute to hand the Fire Club maximum points.

Meanwhile, the game between Basake Holy Stars and Nsoatreman FC was abandoned after Nsoatreman announced their decision to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League due to safety concerns.

Asante Kotoko, Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions and Hearts of Oak occupy the top four spots as Legon Cities, Karela United and Accra Lions sit in the relegation zone.
