Hearts of Oak suffered a 1-0 defeat against Dreams F.C. at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday night in the Matchday 24 fixture of the ongoing 2-24/25 Ghana Premier League.
Abdul Razak Salifu's early goal in the first half was enough for the Still Beleives lads to secure the all-important win for the first time since 2021.
Despite enjoying possession, Hearts of Oak struggled to break down a resilient Dreams defence in the first half. They registered four shots on target but were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Gidios Aseako.
The Phobians intensified their attack after the break, launching 12 goal attempts, but their finishing let them down.
Dreams held firm without a single shot on goal in the second half. Aseako delivered a heroic performance, making five crucial saves to preserve his team’s lead.
The visitors' resolute defending saw them secure only their second away victory this season and in 17 attempts extending from last term.
Hearts are now two points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko, who drew 1-1 at Samartex earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, Dreams F.C. have moved into 12th position with 24 points, taking them six points clear of the relegation zone.
Saturday's defeat was the fifth the Phobians have suffered in the league this season and the sixth in all competitions.
Hearts of Oak will be hosted at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the Matchday 25 games, while Dreams FC will be hosted by Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
