Legendary defender Samuel Osei Kuffour admits he regrets not winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Ghana.
The former Bayern Munich centre-back, who made 54 appearances for the senior national team, played in five AFCON tournaments
Despite his success with club football, Kuffour missed out on the continental trophy remains his biggest disappointment.
“I never had the chance to win the AFCON, and it kills me every day,” he said in an interview with Sporty FM.
"How many great players have won that title? It is a very difficult tournament to play because we know each other. The strength is good, the technique is good, the understanding of the game is always the same.”
Sammy Kuffour burst into the international scene at 13 years old, winning the 1991 FIFA U-17 world championship. Three years later he made his debut for the Black Stars at 17 years old against Sierra Leone.
Kuffour had an illustrious football career, winning several trophies, particularly the UEFA Champions League with German giants Bayern Munich.
He scored six goals for the Black Stars.
