The newly appointed Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama has assured him of unwavering support in his new role.
Adams, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Buem constituency, made this known in an interview after being officially sworn in at the Jubilee House on Friday.
During the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama tasked Adams with revitalizing Ghana’s sports sector, emphasizing the need to address key issues within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as a priority.
Speaking to the media, Adams expressed confidence in the president’s backing as he takes on his ministerial duties.
“If you observed when I was receiving the scroll, we communicated…he was just telling me what it is that he knows is there-Sports Ministry- and the kind of support that he is going to give me 24/7,” Kofi Adams said.
Kofi Adams takes over from Mustapha Ussif, who served as Sports Minister from 2021 to 2024 under the previous NPP administration.
