Former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman, Alhaji Raji has criticized the standard of the Ghana Premier League.
The country's top flight is currently witnessing a sharp decline. It recent times, the Ghana Premier League has been soiled with match-fixing, hooliganism and bad officiating.
Clubs and players have struggled to make an impact in the CAF inter-club competitions.
"The Premier League is my product, it’s our product but in reality terms, I think the standard of the Premier League is low," the veteran football administrator said in an interview.
He also criticized the standard of players playing in the Ghana Premier League.
"I have been through a generation of footballers. I began with the generation of Mfum and Co. I came to the generation of John Eshun and co before the generation of Kuku Dadzie. Truth be told, I’m not happy with this generation of footballers, I’m not happy with their standard at all."
He added: "We must be realistic towards our approach. Till we invest in the Premiership and real professional football, we will still be doing what we are doing now considering how the league is being run."
