The Minister of Sports and Recreation nominee, Kofi Adams has called for a holistic approach to develop sports in the country.
According to him, sports development must not focus on only football or the Black Stars.
Speaking to GHOne TV, Kofi Adams argued that it is important that other sporting disciplines are given attention as well.
“Sports is not football, sports is not Black Stars. Sports go beyond football. We must manage and develop all sports holistically,” the Sports Minister nominee said.
Mr. Adams continued, “We want to ensure that no sport is left behind. When funds are placed under the management of the sports ministry, we can strategically support grassroots sports and other lesser-funded disciplines.”
Following his nomination as Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams is expected to face the Appointment Committee for vetting before his approval or otherwise.
In his interview, Kofi Adams assured that once approved as the Minister in charge of Sports and Recreation, his leadership will be about ensuring that every federation and association under sports succeeds.
