Struggling Ghana Premier League side, Karela United has mutually parted ways with assistant coach Abubakari Damba.

The club announced the decision in an official statement on social media on Friday, January 10.

In the post on X, Karela United indicated that the decision has been taken following careful consideration.

The club expressed its appreciation to the experienced tactician and wished him well in his future endeavours.

“After careful consideration, Karela United has decided to mutually terminate the contract of assistant coach, Abubakari Damba. We are grateful for his service and commitment to the team, but feel that a change is necessary to achieve our goals. We wish coach Damba the best,” Karela United said.

Abubakari Damba is leaving the club at a time when Karela United is struggling to compete in the Ghana Premier League.

The team is currently in the relegation zone of the league standings after picking just 14 points in 16 matches.

It is understood that the team is looking to reinforce its technical bench to turn things around in order to avoid the drop at the end of the campaign.
