Head of Sporting Affairs at Asante Kotoko, Kwesi Appiah, has dismissed claims that Black Stars goalkeeper Frederick Asare is unhappy at the club and has requested a transfer.
Asare has lost his starting spot to Mohammed Camara in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, sparking reports of dissatisfaction and a desire to leave.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Kwesi Appiah expressed surprise at the rumours, stating that the club has no knowledge of any such request.
"I'm startled that you've heard that Frederick Asare wants to leave," he told Akoma FM.
"His contract with Asante Kotoko expires in July or August, and management is unaware that he is unhappy and intends to quit.
"He enjoys his time here and plans to stay with Kotoko," he added.
Asante Kotoko will now shift focus to the MTN FA Cup, where they are set to face Acceler8z FC in the Round of 32 on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
