The Head of Sporting Affairs at Asante Kotoko, James Kwesi Appiah has refuted claims that goalkeeper Frederick Asare is unhappy at the club.

Although Asare remains a key player at the Kumasi-based club, he is not playing regularly as before.

In-form goalkeeper Mohammed Camara is now the preferred first-choice goalkeeper for Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

While Frederick Asare continues to work hard in training to reclaim his starting role, some are speculating that he is unhappy and wants to leave the team.

Addressing these claims in an interview with Akoma FM, Kwesi Appiah has stressed that they are false.

He insists that the top goalkeeper is enjoying his stay in Kumasi.

“Frederick Asare enjoys his stay here. I'm startled that you've heard that Frederick Asare wants to leave. His contract with Kotoko expires in July or August, and management is unaware that he is unhappy and intends to quit.

“He enjoys his time here and plans to stay with Kotoko,” Kwesi Appiah said.

With Asante Kotoko set to face off with Accreler8z FC in the MTN FA Cup this weekend, goalkeeper Frederick Asare is in line to feature in that game.
