Ghana handed Group F draw

Ghana has been drawn in the same group as Germany, Colombia and Trinidad & Tobago for the 2007 Under-17 World Cup. Ghana were handed a place in Group F after FIFA on Tuesday completed the draw in Seoul for the finals which kicks off in South Korea on 18 August and runs to September 9.The competition with six groups would see Ghana, two-time World and Africa at this level attempt a third shot at the World title after winning the competition in 1991 and 1995. The Black Starlets will open their Group F campaign against Trinidad and Tobago on 20 August in Cheonan before games against Germany at the same venue and finally Columbia in Ulsan.Ghana were represented at the draw by FA Executive Committee member, Awuah Nyamekye and deputy General Secretary, Emmanuel Gyimah. Present African champions, Nigeria were drawn in Group F with France, Japan and Haiti. Togo, who were runners-up at the African Under-17 Championship this year, have been drawn in Group A alongside host South Korea, Peru and Costa Rica. The continents other representatives, Tunisia, are in Group E with Belgium, Tajikistan and the USA.
