Black Satellites coach, Desmond Ofei has stressed the need to build on the positives from the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship and correct their mistakes ahead of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Ghana's U-20 side finished second in the just-concluded tournament in Togo after losing 2-1 in the final to rivals Nigeria.
Despite failing to clinch the trophy, the Black Satellites have booked a place in the upcoming AFCON tournament scheduled for next year.
"If you arrive in a final, you want to win the final, but it didn't happen. Like I said before, we have to build on the positives and correct our mistakes [ahead of the 2025 U20 AFCON],” Ofei said.
“We have a lot of talent in the country, including players who also play in the second tier in Ghana.
“In terms of talent, we had like six, seven, or eight players from the second division, which shows the quality we have in the country,” he added.
The date for the 2025 U20 AFCON has yet to be announced, but the Black Satellites are set to continue their preparations for the tournament.
