Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is gearing up to announce his squad for the final two matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, scheduled for later this week.
Facing a must-win scenario, the Black Stars are under pressure to secure victories in both games to keep their fading qualification hopes alive.
The team will first travel to Luanda on November 15 to face Angola, then return home for a crucial match against Niger Republic on November 18.
So far, Ghana’s qualifying campaign has been underwhelming, with two draws and two losses leaving them in a difficult position. These last two games are crucial; to have a shot at qualification, Ghana must win both and also hope Sudan loses its remaining matches.
Coach Addo is expected to reveal a 25-man squad on Friday, November 8. While many regular players are expected to feature, there is speculation that he may call up a few standout local players to bring fresh energy to the team.
With both matches holding Ghana's AFCON fate, all eyes are on Addo’s squad choices and the team’s upcoming performances in these high-stakes fixtures.
Currently, the Black Stars sit third in Group F with two points from four matches, behind Palancas Negras and Sudan.
