Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Thomas Partey’s contributions this season as the team prepares for their match against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Since joining the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in 2020 on a five-year deal, the Ghanaian midfielder has struggled with injuries but has managed to make 12 appearances this season, scoring once.
Arteta highlighted Partey's significant impact and his adaptability in various positions on the pitch.
"The one thing that we needed was Thomas to be at the level we wanted certainly," he told the club website on Friday.
"He's working so hard to do what he's doing at the moment, and I think he's playing really well in different positions with different demands and he's coping with it in a great way. He’s a big player for us," he added.
As Arsenal looks to secure a strong performance against the Magpies, Partey will aim to maintain his place in the starting lineup.
