Asante Kotoko: Prosper Narteh Ogum blames loss of concentration after defeat to Legon Cities

Asante Kotoko: Prosper Narteh Ogum blames loss of concentration after defeat to Legon Cities

Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has attributed his team's 2-1 loss to Legon Cities to a lack of focus in the final minutes of the match.

The Porcupine Warriors were caught off guard during the match at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday night. Albert Yeboah opened the scoring for Legon Cities, but Albert Amoah quickly levelled the game for Kotoko.

However, Abdul Rahman clinched the victory for Legon Cities with a late goal, marking the end of Kotoko's unbeaten start to the season.

In discussing the factors behind the defeat, Ogum pointed out that the players' diminishing concentration was pivotal.

“I think a slight loss of concentration accounted for our defeat. If you look at the two goals that they scored, I mean it was just loss of concentration," he said.

Despite the disappointment of losing their first game, Ogum emphasized the importance of moving forward.

“It was an exciting game and a game of two halves. It was not the best of ways to lose especially if you look at the way we played in the second half. It shouldn’t have happened but then it did. We just have to put ourselves together and then move on."

Currently, Asante Kotoko sits in second place on the league table with 15 points.

Coach Ogum must take the blame for not making any substitutions in the match. His players were tired at the end leading to loss of concentration.
