Black Satellites striker Jerry Afriyie has claimed two top honours at the recently concluded WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations Championship held in Lome, Togo.
The Thoughts FC striker was awarded both Best Player of the Tournament and Top Scorer following the final match on Wednesday, October 30.
Afriyie played a pivotal role for Ghana, helping the team secure a second-place finish after a tough final loss to Nigeria.
He demonstrated his goal-scoring prowess by netting five goals in five matches, including a consolation goal in the final for Desmond Ofei's side, as they secured their spot in next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
His tournament performance included a brace against Benin in the opener and a goal in Ghana's last group-stage game against Togo.
He continued to impress in the semifinals, scoring in a thrilling comeback victory over Cote d'Ivoire that sealed Ghana’s AFCON qualification.
Afriyie now looks to carry this exceptional form into the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
