The qualifiers will be played in a league format between June and March 2008. The three group winners qualify for the final tournament at the Beijing Games.Ghana's Black Meteors are gunning for second successive berth at the Olympics after edging out Burkina Faso on a 5-0 aggregate scoreline over two legs last month.

Men's Competition Groupings:

Group A: Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa
Group B: Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Zambia
Group C: Botswana, Cameroon, Guinea, Morocco

Ghana will play away to Nigeria in the first leg on June 3 before taking on Ethiopia on home grounds on August 22.

The Black Meteors end the first round in Group A with against South Africa away on the weekend of September 8-9.

Below is Ghana's match schedule in the men's qualifiers:

GROUP A

On June 2-3: Nigeria v Ghana

On August 22: Ghana v Ethiopia

On September 8-9: South Africa v Ghana

On October 12-13: Ghana v South Africa

On November 17-18: Ghana v Nigeria

On March 26, 2008: Ethiopia v Ghana

In the women's division, the second round shall be played by 8 teams in pairs. The paired teams shall play two matches on a home and away basis.

Ghana host DR Congo in the first leg on June 3 with the return slated for June 15.

Winners of match 1 will automatically be first positioned in the group of the third round.

10-12 August 2007:

7-9 December 2007:

15-17 February 2008:
South Africa or Zimbabwe vs. Algeria or Nigeria

The Black Queens completed the double over Angola with a 4-1 aggregate result last month and continued with their steady progression for their debut at the Olympic Games.

Africa has just a slot for the 2008 Olympic Games women's football competition as eight countries are left in the qualifying campaign.

The last eight countries in the qualifying series are drawn into two groups with the leaders vying in the finals for the sole ticket to represent the continent.

Aside the single slot for Africa, the runners-up from the CONMEBOL – Brazil and CAF qualifiers would be compete in a one-off decider for a place in the Olympic competition.

Ghana is seeking to make her debut in the women's competition at the Olympic Games after narrowly missing out for the 2004 Athens Games.

FIFA rescheduled the draw date for the Men's and Women's Olympic Football Tournaments, CAF Preliminary Competition to April 17 instead of April 11.
