Medeama SC coach Nebojsa Kapor has expressed frustration over the condition of football pitches in Ghana following his team's 1-0 victory against Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Matchday 2 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
The Yellow and Mauve squad secured their win thanks to a goal from Mamudu Kamaradin in the first half.
However, Kapor used the opportunity to voice his concerns about the state of the pitches across the country, including Legon Stadium.
"Like Baba Yara Stadium (Kumasi), Accra and Cape Coast stadia, the Legon Stadium is also bad. Pitches in Ghana should be better," he said.
"The ground should be better. This is something where there is a very big room for Ghana to improve," he added.
Medeama SC, currently leading the Premier League table, is set to play against Basake Holy Stars at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium on Friday, September 27.
In related news, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has banned Baba Yara Stadium due to its inadequate playing surface. Consequently, the Black Stars will now play their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan on neutral grounds.
