Nii Lante Vanderpuje, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio Constituency, has called for Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif to step down.

Vanderpuje's demand follows the Confederation of African Football (CAF) banning Baba Yara Stadium from hosting international matches due to its poor playing surface and overall condition.

As a result of CAF’s decision, the Black Stars will be forced to play their matchday three games for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Togo next month.

In an interview with ChannelOne TV, Vanderpuje stated, “I think if it had been other jurisdictions, the Minister shouldn’t even expect us to ask questions before.

"He should humbly just bow out. He’s brought disgrace upon the country and himself," he added.

Following their third match against the Falcon, the Black Stars, who are seeking their first win in the qualifiers, will continue their campaign at the Al-Merrikh Stadium.
