Raja Casablanca coach, Rusmir Cvirko, has expressed his displeasure about the poor state of the Accra Sports Stadium playing surface.
His remarks follow after his side were held to a 2-2 draw with Ghana Premier League champions Samatex in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round of games on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Cvirko acknowledged his team’s efforts but criticised the playing surface, which he believes hindered their performance.
"I am not happy. I am happy we didn't lose the game, but normally, we must win this game," he told Max TV.
"But on this field, how we play, it's impossible to play."
The state of the pitch has long been a concern for teams competing at the stadium, and Cvirko made it clear that the conditions made it difficult for his side to play their usual style of football.
Despite the challenges, the Moroccan coach praised his players for their resilience.
"How we played today, I say congratulations, because that's a big win for my team, and because of that I am proud of these young boys," he added.
"But how we played and where we played on this field is very difficult."
Raja Casablanca will host the Ghana Premier League champions at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in the second leg on Saturday, September 21.
