Black Stars coach Otto Addo feels his team deserved at least a draw in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.
In their opening match on Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium, Ghana was unexpectedly defeated by Angola's Palancras Negras.
Both teams struggled to control the game on the challenging, bumpy pitch, a situation noted by both Addo and Angola's coach, Pedro Goncalves.
Felicio Milson's late goal in stoppage time ended Ghana's 24-year unbeaten streak at Baba Yara Stadium. Despite the defeat, Addo believes his side deserved a draw.
“We were lucky maybe a little bit even though we deserved to win in Mali I think but there we scored the goal and now it’s Angola who scored the goal and I think at least a draw would have been deserved but this is football," he told the press after the game.
The Black Stars will now turn their attention to their next Group F fixture against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Berkane, as they look to bounce back from this disappointing home loss.
