Otto Addo calls for emergency renovation of Baba Yara Stadium after Ghana's loss to Angola

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has called for renovation works at the Baba Yara Stadium after his side lost to Angola.

Ghana were stunned in their opener of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on Thursday against the Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ghana struggled to find their rhythm, particularly in the first half, with the poor condition of the Baba Yara pitch hampering their performance.

After a goalless first half, Felicio Joao Milson's late strike won the three points for the away side.

“I don’t want to plant this loss on the pitch even though it wasn’t good. Against Central African Republic, it was also not good but we won. We have to do better,” Addo admitted during his post-match press conference.

Ghana will now look to bounce back in their next Group F clash against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Morocco, as they aim to revive their AFCON qualifying campaign.

The defeat leave the Black Stars in the 3rd spot in Group F with no points.
