Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves has praised striker Agostinho Cristovao Paciencia, better known as Mabululu, ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ghana.
During a pre-match press conference, Goncalves highlighted Mabululu's significant role in the team, commending his journey in football.
“He’s built a very good career. He began right from the bottom and right now everybody is talking about him so I think he’s an example for young boys not only in Angola but also Africa," Goncalves said.
He added, "He is in a good moment (form), he’s an important player for us but fortunately we have others in a good moment (good form) and could be a good option for tomorrow."
Angola is set to face the Black Stars of Ghana in their opening AFCON qualifier on Thursday, September 5, at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
The match is crucial for Ghana as they aim to secure a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco. The top two teams from each group will qualify for Africa's premier football competition.
