Mohammed Nurudeen mutually part ways with Asante Kotoko to focus on nursing career

Asante Kotoko and defender Mohammed Nurudeen have mutually parted ways ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Nurudeen joined the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana football season from Real Tamale United.

Despite pursuing a football career, Nurudeen also holds a position with the Ghana Health Service as a practising enrolled nurse.

And despite the Reds' efforts to persuade the experienced defender to prioritise his football career, Nurudeen remained dedicated to his nursing profession, per a statement from the club.

The press release added that an emergency meeting was held on Sunday, 4th August 2024, where the Interim Management Committee (IMC) decided to part ways with Nurudeen.

This decision aims to ensure the team’s cohesion for the upcoming season.

"The IMC would like to assure our supporters that the club will not suffer any financial or sporting penalties due to this decision and wishes Nurudeen the best for the future."

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have bolstered their squad after recruiting 12 players ahead of the upcoming season where they will open their campaign with an away game against Karela United.
