CAF Champions League: We must put up a good performance to make Ghana and our fans happy - FC Samartex owner tells players

Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire, the owner and financier of FC Samartex, has urged his team to represent Ghana with distinction and make both the club's supporters and the nation proud as they compete in the CAF Champions League.

The Timber Giants are set to make their first appearance in the prestigious CAF inter-club competition after winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title under the guidance of Nurudeen Amadu.

Speaking to the players at their training camp in Safari Valley, located in the Eastern Region, Dr. Nsenkyire highlighted the importance of unity and collective effort, urging each player to bring their unique strengths and skills to achieve excellence and leave a lasting legacy.

“Lads, we cannot let Ghana and our supporters down. Let's put in a spirited fight to proudly raise the flag of Ghana," he said.

“Let's bring our individual abilities to the table and write a remarkable story for ourselves,” Dr. Nsenkyire added.

The Green and White squad will face Victoria United FC in Cameroon for the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League before hosting the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The preliminary round, scheduled for August, marks an exciting start for Samartex. The winner of this round will advance to face either ASGNN of Niger or Morocco's Raja Club Athletic in September's second round.

Samartex aims to make a strong impression in their debut Champions League campaign and views the upcoming matches as an opportunity to showcase their talents on the continental stage.
