Bofoakwa Tano coach John Eduafo says Nsoatreman FC deserve to win the FA Cup trophy.

At the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, Nsoatreman FC came from behind to beat their regional rivals to win their maiden trophy.

Bofoakwa Tano took an early lead in the 22nd minute through a well-placed goal by Richard Dzikoe but Nsoatreman FC showed resilience to pull parity eleven minutes later through Sadat Mohammed.

Despite both teams creating numerous opportunities, neither could find the back of the net during the additional 30 minutes, leading to a tense penalty shootout.

Nsoatreman held their nerve and emerged victorious with a 5-4 scoreline, sparking jubilant celebrations among their players and supporters.

“Both teams had a very competitive game. We took the lead and they came back to equalize at the tail end. Penalties can go either way. We missed the chance and they took their chance and won. They are equally a better side and deserve to win,” Eduafo said after the game.

Nsoatreman FC has earned the ticket to represent Ghana at the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup next season.

Having failed to maintain their Premier League status, Bofoakwa Tano are expected to feature in the Division One League next season.
